I've been an avid Internet junkie for years, and just recently discovered some very interesting blogs about subjects I am deeply interested in. I really enjoy reading Fugley Horse of the Day Blog and Mugwumps Blog.
I have posted a few times on them and have decided to take the plunge so to speak and make my own. It seems so much easier than posting to several blogs!
So now, a little bit about me. I live in Vermont with my family, 5 horses, 4 cats and a Lab. I also work full time (from home mostly) so trying to find time to enjoy my horses seems to always come last. Last year I purchased a 3 yr old QH filly who ended up with strangles and took many months to fully recover. I plan on continuing her training myself and posting about that here. I have my old faithful who will be 32 this summer, still going strong and thinks she is 3. My daughter has a 10 yr old reg welsh pony who we bought as a green broke to drive 6 yr old and last year she showed her in gymkhanas and open local shows and they did very well. I'm pretty proud of the fact she trained her herself (with some advice from me). We also bought a 16 yr old QH mare last May who is turning out to be a real sweetheart. She was shown lightly and did pretty good considering all she ever really did before we got her was pop out babies and help round up cattle. The last one in the barn is my 2 yr old possibly Arab filly we bought of a dealer who got her at the Unadilla action. She is my heart attack maker, and has sponsored my vet's vacation this past year. I will make a special blog about her later, it will take a whole blog!
